Century City · Commercial / retail
Century City commercial block: access, retail and building networks
A mixed-use commercial block needing access control, camera coverage, common-area lighting, in-store retail operations including POS, and a resilient network backbone.
The request
- “We need one access system for staff, tenants and deliveries — not three different fobs and a sign-in book.”
- “The retail tenants need reliable network, POS setup and a guest Wi-Fi that doesn't share the building network.”
- “Common-area lighting and parking are on timers that nobody understands and are always wrong.”
- “We want cameras that cover the entrance, parking and loading bay — and one view, not five apps.”
How we tackled it
- Designed a building-wide network backbone with separated VLANs for building systems, tenant retail operations, POS and guest Wi-Fi — so a retail tenant's traffic never touches the access control system.
- Installed access control for staff, tenants and deliveries with time-limited credentials and a single management view.
- Set up and configured in-store retail operations including POS terminals, network and guest Wi-Fi for the retail tenants.
- Integrated cameras across entrance, parking and loading bay into one monitoring view with off-site recording.
- Replaced opaque timers with presence- and schedule-driven lighting for common areas, parking and entrances.
- Provided remote support and a documented handover for the building manager.
